About Embroidery Market

Honest reviews. Real-machine testing. Zero AI fluff. The independent voice in anime embroidery designs since 2022.

500+ designs tested

Every site reviewed here has been put through a minimum of 3 paid purchases and 1 full stitchout on real fabric.

1 human reviewer

I’m Agathe — every review you read on this site is mine. No outsourced writers, no AI-generated buying guides, no recycled marketing copy.

2 machines, 6 formats

Every file is tested on a Brother F440E (single-needle) and a Bernina 770 QE Plus (premium), in PES, DST, EXP, JEF, VP3 and XXX.

Why This Site Exists

A blog born from the workshop

Embroidery Market opened in 2022 as a small shop selling anime embroidery files I had digitized myself. Two years and over a thousand customer stitchouts later, the catalog had outgrown its name and its scope. In 2024, the shop relaunched as Cloud Designs — same craft, broader catalog, cleaner files.

Embroidery Market stayed alive for one reason: the embroidery world needs an honest reviewer. Not a marketplace. Not an AI-generated top-10. A real person, with a real machine, who buys files anonymously and tells you whether they actually run clean.

That’s the job of this site today.

Meet The Reviewer

Hi, I’m Agathe

Anime embroidery digitizer, machine tester, thread brand snob, Cloud Designs co-founder.

I’ve been digitizing anime embroidery designs since 2022. What started as a personal hobby — turning Naruto and One Piece into clean machine-ready files — became Embroidery Market, then Cloud Designs, then this review site.

My daily driver is a Brother F440E — the workhorse most hobbyists actually own. For premium detail work I run a Bernina 770 QE Plus. Both sit on the same bench, the same fabric, the same Madeira and Isacord thread spools. Every file you read about on this site went through one of them.

I write everything myself. No outsourced ghost writers, no “AI-assisted” copy. If a sentence here says a file ran clean, it means I watched the needle finish without skipping. If it says the color chart is wrong, it means I matched it against my actual thread stock.

If you’ve ever bought a file that looked perfect in the preview and shredded your stabilizer at minute 12 — you know why this site exists.

Our Process

How we test every design

No marketplace API. No sponsored access. No AI shortcuts. Just four steps, applied identically to every site we review.

01

Anonymous purchase

We buy 3 to 5 files from each site, with a regular customer email. No press contact, no review copies.

02

Software analysis

In Wilcom and Embird: stitch count, pathing, jump count, density, underlay structure, and pull compensation values.

03

Real stitchout

We run the file end-to-end on the Brother F440E and Bernina, on real fabric, with real backings, no fast-forwarding.

04

The verdict

Thread breaks, puckering, color drift, missing files. We log everything — then publish, with photos.

Full Disclosure

Why Cloud Designs ranks #1 in our reviews

I run both Embroidery Market and Cloud Designs. You should know that before reading any review here. The relationship doesn’t change the methodology — every Cloud Designs file is tested against the same 4-step process as every Etsy file or Brother iBroidery file. Cloud ranks #1 in the marketplace comparison because of measurable facts: 3,700+ designs, 6 formats included with every purchase (no upsell), multiple hoop sizes per file, PDF color charts with thread brand mapping, and a 1,600+ stitchout gallery. If a competitor matched all five criteria, they would beat Cloud in the ranking. So far, none has.
